Roadmap Now, next, future

What we are shipping now, queuing next, and planning for the next wave.

Roadmap is the promise layer. It focuses on upcoming operator outcomes, not low-level patch history. For shipped evidence and version-by-version proof, use the release ledger.

Container & Kubernetes Path

Kubernetes scanning is now local-first; governance depth expands in phases.

Cloud Waste Scanner now supports read-only Kubernetes scans through local kubectl while keeping kubeconfig and scan output on the operator machine. The current Community lane covers cluster inventory and waste evidence; the roadmap focuses on deeper allocation context, shared triage workflow, and compliance-ready closure for Team and Enterprise lanes.

Now (Community)

Local Kubernetes scan plus resource-layer coverage

Run local kubectl scans for contexts, pods, nodes, workloads, services, PVs, PVCs, findings, governance summaries, and action plans, then correlate them with cloud-side orphan disks, stale snapshots, idle network paths, and underused services.

Next (Team lane)

Shared Kubernetes triage workflow

Turn Kubernetes findings into owner queues, recurring review cadence, and team-visible closure history for platform teams that need repeatable weekly execution.

Future (Enterprise lane)

Allocation integration with execution closure

OpenCost/Kubecost-aligned cost context plus CWS evidence and closure workflow, so finance allocation and engineering cleanup stay in one operating loop.

AI Runtime Governance

Local AI device evidence and Kubernetes GPU allocation are now shipped

v2.9.21 ships local AI runtime scan APIs, Kubernetes GPU summary evidence, and AI governance reporting so teams can find and reclaim GPU waste without hosted collectors.

Community Scan Coverage

Kubernetes/container scanning moved from roadmap to shipped Community capability

Recent releases added local kubectl scan execution, kubeconfig/context inputs, Kubernetes inventory, findings, governance summaries, and action-plan API endpoints.

Download Path

Current desktop artifacts are published for Windows, Linux, and macOS

The official download page now exposes v2.9.19 filenames, SHA256 values, latest symlink checks, and post-deploy health proof for all published platform artifacts.

API and Release Gates

API documentation and publish checks now match the expanded local surface

OpenAPI, SDK, webhook signing, pagination, MCP, Kubernetes routes, and compatibility-governance guidance are documented alongside stricter local smoke and post-deploy checks.
